Plausible to build custom variable voltage Lion charger?

I just saw this one in my Mouser spam. A Meanwell that's actually made to be a battery charger:
Not cheap though, $97.92.

Mean Well ENC-360 360W Desktop Single Output Battery Chargers provides programmable charging for lead-acid and Li-ion batteries. The chargers feature a built-in 3-stage charging curve, a programmable function to adjust the charging mode, and parameters for different battery characteristics. ENC-360 offers a wide input range (90V to 264VAC), built-in active power factor correction, a three-year warranty, and standard 7" width. The battery chargers meets UL/CUL/CB/CE/FCC safety regulations.

The 48v version looks like it should handle up to 14s Li-ion. 6A, no fan.

that thing is not suitable for lipo. lead only.

Ah, but to program it, you need the SBP-001 programmer:

$53 at Mouser.

Someone has figured out the communication protocol, no need to buy Mean Wells programmer interface.

Very nice, maybe the Mean Well protocol is documented somewhere?

The enp-360 variety (also with program port) might be a reasonably priced programmable power supply, although the enc-360 seems to be better with the CC mode in addition to CV.
