Please Help. 48v Conversion kit. Twist throttle to thumb. Not use pedal assist.

Hello, I'm new here.
Has anyone changed the set ups on conversion kits?
I have upgraded my 36v 500w conversion kit to a 48v 1000w kit.
It came with a twist throttle and pedal assist.
On my 36v kit, I changed the twist throttle to a thumb throttle and didn't connect the pedal assist, it all worked fine.
I have done the same with the 48v kit, but it isn't working.
As the brakes override the motor, I disconnected the brakes incase it was that, but it still didn't work.
I've changed some connections the same as I did on the 36v kit, so I am baffled to why doing the same to a 48v kit isn't working.
please can anyone help and advise.

In these modern times, most kits have standardized the motor wire colors, three thick Y, G,B, and three thin Y, G, B. Maybe your two kits were different? Check that the thin wires, which are the hall sensors, flash between 0 and 5V when the motor is turned backward.

Check that your throttle is wired righr, and that it starts at .7V and increases past 4V when turned.

There is only lights on the battery to show charge and lights on the thumb throttle. The silver controller doesn't have any lights on it.
Yes, the 2 kits are different, 1 was a 36v 500w thumb throttle conversion kit, which I took everything off my bike. Then I put the new 48v 1000w conversion kit onto the same bike.
This new 48v kit came with pedal assist which I didn't connect (same as i dont before on 36v kit) and I changed the twist throttle to a thumb throttle (same as with the 36v kit.
I am wondering and slightly worried that this controller could be twist throttle and pedal assist only.
Do you know about the controllers for conversion kits ?
Is it possible to override/change set-up/configuration?

Some controllers are easy to wire up. Others are not.

SInce you mentioned thumb throttle with lights, those type of controllers are often harder to wire up. because they have several leads marked door, anti-theft, alarm, etc which have to be wired to battery to get the controller to power up, Others, which use displays only need a compatible display to power up,

That;s is why I mentioned looking at your throttle voltage or the hall sensors. The first thing you need to know is whether the controller is wired so it can turn on, If it is on, you will have the 5V power for these sensors.

Then if you got the motor wires correct, the motor should spin,

I mainly use KT controllers because they offer the better pedal response on low power bikes and also provide decent documentation on connectors,

Hi, thank you ever so much for all that info. I will check it all.
The other day, as all 3 lights on the thumb throttle lit up red orange and green to show battery charge, I thought it meant that all was ok with the controller
