pocket bike cvt transmission

thought this might be something for people to look into. they are really cheap as far as bike parts go. I think I saw a ratio of 7:1 changing to 3:1.

would be heavy but could get rid of the first set of pulleys people put on their non hub drives. an a built in centrifugal freewheel clutch.

70$ on some pocket bike sites. just a thought.
 
I've put that up here before, the response was mostly unreceptive for reasons that elude me at the moment. I guess the price has gone up, there used to be eBay listings at $49.
 
80-100's at the low Kv-130 are available on electricbike.com for $125 + $20 shipping: Ain't nothin toit but to doit...get em before the price goes up!

I think the main problem with the idea is that this kind of transmission is not real efficient. You see them on bikes at times, but they never got popular for real travelers. With gas, the efficiency is not a worry.

I don't know just how inefficient, but it does matter to us given the cost of carrying battery you waste.
 
I think the issue is that they will probably slip a lot with the torque that an RC motor puts out at low RPM.
