Thanks to rampant unemployment in California, there's been an uptick in independent movies created by the disaffected youth in LA on netflix.
This one stood out to me as particularly intriguing amid the standardized Hollywood "blah".
The cover, it just had an aura of "watch me".
The description sounded so original and 'true', as well.

And, holy crap, the female lead is smoking hott!!! Why don't regular movies get lasses like that?
The acting is authentic in the sense that's how you'd expect real life people to act if they were starring in a show. Not like "good acting", but "real acting". Kind of like that other independent film, Video Game Highschool. "Real acting" as opposed to the too-sophisticated-and-clever-to-be-real-life hollywood acting ("Video Game Highschool" was also different because it's as if the writer wrote the script around the actual personality of the actors. The actors might have written their own scripts, for all I know.).
