Duct tape.
+1 (It can take a while. )

AIUI: Warts are symptoms of a virus flying under your immune system's radar. The tape can stimulate the immune system in the area to identify the virus as the enemy. Once that happens, the wart and other warts on your bod will get whacked.

YMMV

I had a nasty one in my right hand palm for years, never able to get rid of it until I did those 4 things (combined):

1 - Nail clipper surgery
2 - Compound W Freeze Off
3- Compound W Salacitic acid
4- Duct Tape

Rince and repeat every day for a month (freeze off once a week).

thanks for the replies!
i have tried TAPE, W, and surgery, but this is better, and faster:
i cook them. medium well done/dead.
1st the ice down keeps good tissue safe, and prevents pain.
then touch to the top only, a soldering iron or glue gun around 212-225F, for 3 seconds, wait 5 sec, 3 sec + 3sec.
Total cooking time, 9 seconds.
When the heat works its way thru the wart, and u feel the heat, remove the iron. Do not hold it longer or it will cause a burn (ask me how i know this).
a properly cooked wart turns whiter and falls off in a day or two. (washes off in shower)
tastes like chicken

Go to the Grocery store and get a little piece of dry ice.

bottle of fine whiskey
razor blade, cigarettes.

I always thought that the "kill the father wart" and the other ones also die was a rumor. That seems a little too much like the vampire lore.

Tagament. The over the counter antacid. For 6 weeks.

I know, you're thinking WTF?

Seriously.

Layman's explination of how it works: Warts are caused by a virus, HPV. The virus thrives in higher acid bodies and dies in low acid bodies. Tagament works to raise your body's PH level, (less acid, more base). Its a side effect of how it lowers your stomach acid. The virus can't survive in the high PH environment and dies out.

It works. its utilizing a drug's side effects for a primary advantage. Like Aspirin for heart attacks, Benadril for seasicknes or sunburns, ect. It needs to be Tagament, or an antacid that uses Cimetidine as it's active ingrediant.

Its a Doctor that recommended this treatment to my Girlfriend for her son. He was reluctant to freeze the warts on his fingers due to his age, and suggested 6 weeks of 400mg a day for him. (2 pills a day) he was 6 years old.

The warts were gone in 4 weeks, but the Dr said keep taking it the full 6 weeks. I've since used it on my self for planters warts on my feet and had it work just fine. I've found other people who have used this remedy as well.

Duct tape may work in the same way, raising the local PH of the area.

When I was about 6 or so, I went to the doctor for a check-up with one of those circular wart bandages on the back of my hand. The doctor (who was about 80 years old) said "you can't hide anything from me," took off the bandage and scratched the wart off with her thumbnail.

I have a scar, but never anymore wart problems.

Drunkskunk
that Tagament is interesting! can a pill be crushed into a powder, mixed into a paste, and be applied directly to the wart?

It's a systemic treatment Matt, Ya gotta get to a theraputic level.

from http://www.aafp.org/afp/2003/0315/p1233.html

"Cimetidine (Tagamet) is known to stimulate T-lymphocyte populations, which are important in controlling viral infections. At a dosage of 30 to 40 mg per kg per day, it has been tried with varying success in the treatment of warts. A small trial20 in children found cimetidine to be as effective as the usual topical agents or cryotherapy. Another trial21 combining cimetidine with levamisole (an immunomodulator used in the treatment of colon cancer) reported cure rates of 85.7 percent versus 45.5 percent with cimetidine alone. However, in a more recent double-blind study,22 cimetidine was not found to be significantly more effective than placebo in adults or children, although there was a trend toward efficacy in younger patients. Cimetidine or watchful waiting could be considered for use in children who cannot tolerate destructive treatment methods."

take drugs for 6 weeks to kill a wart
no wonder health care costs are so high.
next will be an expensive drug to stop toenail growth so u won't have to trim them
i'll stick to my quick, painless when done right, ice/cook method. i'm sure it won't catch on because there is no money in it.
thanks for all the replies!

When I was a teenager I got one in the inside of my hand. To bite it on several occasions was how it came off. Still hasn't returned.

p.s. How the hell do we say "to bite" in the past?

"Bite" is an irregular verb. http://www.englishpage.com/irregularverbs/irregularverbs.html

She bit it.
She had to bite it.
She had bitten it before.

Several ways. "Bit" is the past tense of "bite". "Being bitten" would replace "to bite it" in that sentence. "Being bitten on several occasions was how it came off. Still hasn't returned."
But a European English speaker might reform the sentence into something like "With a great gnashing of teeth, I had at thee! The foe has been vanquished"
An educated American English speaker might say "I used a multi-step dentile extraction process. Preliminary results have been positive."
A redneck American would likely say "Fuc#, I just ripped that shit out with my teeth! Now that little fuc#er is too scared to come around here again!"

Ah, but in america you would lose points for using passive voice, "being bitten."^

Yes, yes – but what I want to know is whether you bit it off in one bite,
or if you were biting away at it repetitively until it completely bitten off.

It had a slight blood taste. I just bit the damn thing repeatedly until it pop'ed off!

I recently noticed a new one trying to get started on my right calf. I’ve had them burned off in the past and used the salicylic acid to some success, but I’m starting on the Tagamet today. Can’t hurt, right? :)

Not sure if this is the same drug?

Dr Marty say - Remove wart with tools. The same way you would dig a tree out of the ground.
