Allright, so Bob Mcree may be into spare ribs, and when all else fails a banana will keep me going for ~10Kms... But I think poutine is a preferable food for several reasons:
First is that it's cheaper per energy content, and while meat has more protein but you really don't need that much. The excess just makes your excrements and sweat smell alot worse anyways.
The larger energy density of poutine means if you eat until you're full, you've ingested more energy then with with the ribs. It also means if you ate poutine until you're full and tried to equal that energy with ribs, you'd be way too full and unable to ride very well.
I should point out I think poutine is more enjoyable to ingest then ribs, because there's a blend of more complex flavors that varies as you eat it, whereas ribs tastes mostly the same as you eat it. The one thing with ribs that poutine really lacks the succulent burned fat parts that I love the most, although I'm sure there must be places that will add some for you if you ask. But usually the closest I find is in the form of an extra bacon, and that's pretty good too. However, there's so many variations of poutine that you could, as I do, use it as fuel source every day or two and not get tired of it.
At least in my neck of the woods, shops that have poutine are much more common and faster then spare rib places. I guess this would vary by location, but hey even Mc Donalds serves the stuff here (theirs is pretty bad, though)
Anyways, so the other day I went to my nearby Ashton restaurant and ordered a regular(large) dulton(ground meat with spices) special(sausages) with extra cheese, extra dulton and extra raw onions. Minutes later, I got my meal:
I started as I usually do, by eating the toppings with most of the cheese. Sometimes I'll mix it all up and then eat it:
Once the top layer is gone, I like to add ample ketchup & mayonnaise to what's left, you know ketchup is essentially sugar while mayo is fat, so it gives somewhat of a kick that boosts it. It's also really good.
After about 30-45mins I was done eating, and it was a delicious treat!
