Prius C - 51.6 MPG

My wife and I purchased a 2013 Prius C - level II.

We just filled-up for the first time since purchasing, and did:
411 miles (Approx 75% city-miles, 25% highway-miles)
w/ 7.968 gallons
= 51.6 MPG.


We would have gone for a Nissan Leaf, but have no means of plugging it in at home.

Anyhow, we are totally loving it.

mostly city. (with the exception of my latest road-trip to Yosemite)
I cruise on the freeways at 65 mph.

So far, I've been seeing about 54 mpg in the city, and 48 mpg on the highway (65 mph driving).
And just FYI: the "C" in "Prius C" is for "city".

I'm going to need to need a good deal of convincing before I start modding this 20K dollar vehicle... and mods aren't likely to happen until after the warranty period.

Congrats EBJ on your new car. If your going to get something that burns old fashion gasoline, this is the one to get.

I have a gen 2 Prius i bought new in 2007 that now has 130k miles and its been a near perfect car. The only problem i had was a bad water pump but that only cost $40 on line for an oem pump shipped plus coolant. Not bad! I've averaged roughly 47 mpg over the life of the car which while not 51, is still.nice for this older model car. Mine is also blue but a blue that looks like it has some grey in it which you often see driving around here in the bay area.

Thing is though, I get around 55mpg on my 2,000cc diesel estate vehicle. Admittedly a lot of motorway driving but still.
