Hi all,

Recently a friend of mine replaced the two bearrings on my motor sitting on a 2010 model Govecs 1.2. The scooter worked fine before we did the replace, but now when I put the motor back in its acting weird.

When I turn the ignition key on, the display lights up as normal, and the green light on the Gen4 controller lights steady green. But when I start turning the "gas" handle it seems like the motor don´t know know which direction to go.
Sometimes it goes forward for about 1 second and suddenly runs bacwards and so on. Sometimes when I hold the "gas" handle steady the motor goes "tick" by "tick" until I let "gas" handle off.

Anyone got any suggestions what could be the problem? Encoder problems maybe?

Anyone knows how to check the encoder?

Appreciates any help.

Thank´s

Kris

Broken hall sensor.

Hi.
Thanks for quick reply!

Broken hall sensor? Do you know which type I need? Maybe I can order one from Ebay?

first you need to test them.

for the lasy you can watch a sumary video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7m8DA6mmo84

or use the search to find how to test hall sensors.

Hi, thank you flippy!

Now I understand:) Tomorrow I will test my hall sensor, and post my results.

Did open motorcover on the Govecs, and it turned out to be the set-screws on the encoder that was loose.

Did do a test drive after tighten the screews, and now its running :) However, it seems that the encoder needs to be adjusted so that it`s in the right position in relative to the motor.
Anyone know if this can be done without any tools or instruments? Have tried to adjust the encoders position, and it is big difference in the "smoothness" of the motor, but not as much power as it was before.

In the instrument panel its blinking "high current" when I drive it, even if it was poor acceleration on the scooter.

Suggestions anyone.

Hi

I have a govecs too, and suddenly it's acting weird too.

Didn't do anything to cause it.

It rides fine until i hit max speed, which is limited at 47km/hr.

Then it starts too oscillate, kinda on/off riding. Feels like i'm riding horseback....

at random I can hear some knocking from the motor too, and it stops a few milliseconds while knocking.

What screws do you mean by 'set' screws?

My encoder had a mark to set it. The motor started to act strange, so I advanced the encoder a few millimeter before the mark and now it's running fine again
