Prospective purchase; have questions

Ok, after contacting Paul as well as other vendors, and learning that Paul doesn't have enough A123 cells, I came across Maxamps Green Series Lifepo4 packs (http://www.maxamps.com/Life-10000-99-Pack.htm). Has anyone had any experience with these - currently their 9.9V 10Ah packs are $249 each. So to get, say, 50V 10Ah, I would need to buy 5 packs - over $1000, excluding the charger.

Then I came across Headway packs, like this one - http://stores.headway-headquarters.com/-strse-71/48v12a-lifepo4-battery-pack%2C/Detail.bok?category=BATTERY+PACKS - significantly less expensive ($620), with more capacity (12Ah), and comes with a 4A charger. I contacted Jim at Headways and was advised not to combined two or more batteries together to achieve higher capacity. So if I do go with Headways, I should probably buy that big pack. One big disadvantage that I noticed so far is its size - being one big block, it's nearly impossible to fit anywhere in pieces. At 98mm thick, it'll push everything in my backpack away. But I guess I might just get a separate bag for it.

So what recommendation does anybody have?

Just to be clear, it is not recommended to parallel two batteries together of different capacities (Ah) or of different chemistry was what my explanation was intended to mean
As far as separating Headway battery packs into smaller packs, that can be accomplished too. Just a little imagination and a creative spirit and the only limitations are pretty much the size and shape of the cells themselves. Here is an example of thinking outside the box for a 48V10Ah battery.

Yea, I decided to go with A123 pouches. Thanks for the follow up, man.
