Hey Guys,

I'm always looking for thicker tires and noticed that there are some awesome shinko tires that go together perfect with prowheel rims (used in motocross stuff).
People have done that on stealth bombers which uses 24" MTB wheels and it seems that there is no size difference between the wheels.
There is no way that the prowheel 19" is actually 19"!
check this thread here on ES, the bottom post with the wheel comparison, the guy put the 19" next to a 26" and they are almost the same size (and the tire is not 6" taller):

Motorcycles do it the way it should be done, they measure a wheel and tire at the ID of the tire, so you are describing the interface between the two.

Bicycles list the format by the OD of the tire, but...only if an "average" tire is used. By that I mean when you take a common 26-inch wheel, and use a fatter tire, the OD of the tire is bigger than 26-inches. Its a horrible way to name a product format. It only continues out of momentum, and it would be harder to fix than to go to an accurate name.

16-inch moped is so similar to 20-inch bicycle that some of the tires are interchangable. Not all 24-inch bicycle tires and rims interchange with all 19-inch Moped tires and rims, but...many do.

That explains alot of my recent confusions...
Is there a chance that I can mount a Shinko tire intended for 19" moped on a 24" double track rim?
In the link you provided they showed that a 16" moped rim worked with a 20" bicycle tire...

19" moto and 24" mtb rim are completely different sizes.
This photo shows a 19" moto wheel on the bike with a 24" and 26" mtb rim next to it

See this thread for LOTS AND LOTS of information about this topic:

By the thread amberwolf has posted here the 24" mtb and 19" moped have a very close rolling diameter (with tires)
In the photo you provided it seems like a bigger difference, maybe because the 24" is a bit closer to the camera?

Ok, i am wrong and you are right. I can only go on the physical comparison of the wheels and tyres i actually own and can compare in real life as you can see in my photo.

Go ahead and put a 19" moto tyre on a 24" mtb rim, i am sure it will fit just perfect.
