Hello everybody i'm sorry advance because i was think to start a project with a mini bike electric but i think is to big for starting a project so i will make a bmx electric bicycle i found this project awesome look i will be inspired for my project there's the link : http://merahobby.blogspot.com/2009/01/home-made-electric-byke.html

Welcome to the forum. Spend a few weeks browsing the Ebike pictures section for ideas before you spend money. Lots of experience on display there. 20 inch rims and lots of watts to a rear hubmotor is the usual route cuz it works.

Welcome back all people!! in the forum

My father give me a great idea for a project because we have an old frame from a quad is an old suzuki vtt 1992 I could take this frame and put little wheel and adjust the height and add a custom seat and i think to put an hydraulic motor pump or kart golf motor like suggest me doctorbass for my first thinking project a dirt bike. I know it not right to change of idea but. I have a free frame for nothing who sleep in the back yard. ;) doh !!

So i will waiting for announcing a project and do nothing i say thank for all peoples who anwsered to my questions in other post. When i will buy my motor and battery i will show you this on the forum. My father is not ready right now for help me in that project but that will be nice when he can.

I would like to have enough power for make little drift with my tuning quad. I will put small wheel in alluminium and renured tire and bigger wheel at the back and make steel plate on the side with the high voltage logo on it. ;)

If you want to help me in my project i'm open for suggestion. I'm sure that will be awesome a little quad electric. For the moment i waiting the spring and hope we have a great summer in quebec. Last year is so bad for my rc brushless car That year i think that will be better.

good bye take care and i come back later with my true project !! chow chow ;)

mrgnome welcome to the forums and I'll look forward to seeing pics of your bmx project. My current project has BMX style in mind, so it may give you some ideas. If you're going to mount a motor from a water pump or golf cart, you might want to search for GGoodrum's 1000w build because its a great example (with pics) of one method to mount your motor.

Recumpence was a "PK Ripper" frame ...Recumpence (Matt) sells the reduction drives and the motors
used on the "PK Ripper" BMX build, also seells everything else needed to get a RC motored build
up and running.

Hi everybody check that project i could will inspired for me for my atv project is awesome but the motor will maybe expensive but if i could find one used that could be ok is a fork lift electric motor it on 48volt i think

Check that electric mini bike i could build this for fun that could be more easy to build than a atv what you think ??

An ATV would be complicated, unless you just bought a gas ATV and converted it to electric. The minibike looks like a lot of fun, especially since it has a suspension. I've ridden a gas pocketbike that was really painful to ride ove 15mph because it didn't have any suspension at all.

A non-suspension gocart or minibike would be really easy to build, and there are plenty of kits out there. It probably wouldn't be too complicated to mount an electric motor instead of the gas motors they normally use.

The biggest problem I see with either is where to ride it. If you're in the city, its dangerous as heck because people can't see you if you're that low to the ground, and its worse when you can zip around that fast. I want one! But I live in the city :(

I have found a project on youtube who present an electric quad i think is possible if i take a forklift motor and a great controller like 48v or 24 but i don't how much amps i needed to be like this quad that could be great and fun no motor gas sound and mufler sound just electric that it the guy run 1 hours with full battery charged. Just right for doing little ride in quarter and make little drift i will put small wheel and protect batteries with alluminium checker plate and paint my frame orange or yellow and make a plate for standing the controller in place and put a plastic protection on cable.

Just what i know on that project the batteries are 85ah 12volts maybe he have 24v controller but i don't know wich is the model is not mentioned
and he have a great gradator switch with a nice odometer i would like to know the brand of that switch for find the compagny for order one.

so there the link of the electric quad http://www.youtube.com/user/paukeoy

Hi everbody i come back on my project !!! It beautiful time at Mont-Laurier Quebec is sunny the spring come out in our face.

I will start to make my shopping for my project i will check for used forklift motor for my electric quad. I'm sure you will like it So for this project i would like to know wich is the best price for 48volt motor controller i want to drive two batteries with 2 light and one red backlight. I think i will build myself with many red led that could be nice ;)

I would like to know if i can put an lcd display on my project and wich brand you suggest me and other parts how i can loose. I have one place who repair electric motor in my town i will go check what he have in his stock and told them for a fork lift motor.

sorry advance for my english i'm a french quebecer. i will let some news soon about my project. I would like to start to put the frame in the garage for start to clean it and remove some parts of the gas quad. After that i will take pictures for the forum. ;)

I start to check for my project quad electric and i saw how they motor 36v who suggest me doctorbass is to higher price. So i decided for now to keep my bmx project infront because i have an winch motor old and other new i will build for start a bicycle maybe 26" with the winch motor that will be more easy for the price the 36volt motor start at 481$ us for a golf cart motor and i don't have that budget.

I'm sad because i would like to build an quad or atv project. Is complicated to build something without spend lot of money. Is sure i can build an atv with used part but if is just for fun i prefer to start smaller im sure you understand me with the current economy is not easy to build a big project.

I think i can will build a great project too with the electric bicycle. I would like to fin a cruiser frame or bmx frame. I will put an cycle analyst on it i dont know if i will put an controller but i will check for that.

I'm sorry for members of this forum i change sometimes of idea but now i know what the price will be with the atv project. Is not in my way is more easier to build an electric bycicle.

So keep always in new with my future project that will be cool. I will put photos when i will strart to dessamble the winch motor.

Sorry to hear that you had to cancel your atv project. Thats just how it goes sometimes.

How big is the winch you're using? I'm guessing it's related to that atv you were going to use, so possibly a fairly small 1000 lb winch?

My blog is over i don't continue it i going to other thing like work and i have a small blog for my drawing passion i want always to build something of electric project. I will see later
