Hi all,
I'm using a PM100DXR inverter for my CRX conversion and I'm planning out some of the low voltage wiring looms. I notice that J2pin15 and J2pin22 are both lowside digital signals - J2pin15 is used to indicate that the inverter is powered on via the start relay, and J2pin22 is the fault warning LED.

Being a low side signal, I presume I need provide +12 V to the cathode of a current-limited (390R resistor) LED, and the anode is connected to J2pin22? I'm testing it on Voltron, but it's not showing any signs of life because, presumably, I'm not getting it to fault.

The reason I ask is because on Voltron, this is currently wired up as if it were a highside signal, providing some voltage to the cathode of an LED, who's anode is connected to ground. When the bike is turned on and the start signal is activated (putting the vehicle state machine into drive) the LED lights up. When the change of direction button is pressed, it goes off until the brake signal is pressed, and the LED lights up again.

I suspect I'm seeing some artefacts here...

Thanks in advance.
Chris

LOL never mind - I thought of a fault I can introduce: Disconnect the main HV connector. Wired the LED up as instructed and it flashed errors like it's supposed to! 6 slow, 2 fast: low DC bus voltage.

[Edited to add]: The problem was conventional current again. See in conventional current, current flows from the high voltage to the low voltage, so from the + to the -. Cathodes refer to the positive electrode of a battery, anodes are the negative. Cations (pronounced cat-ions) are positively charged ions, and anions (pronounced an-ions) are negatively charged.
...but for semiconductors, the cathode is the negative and the anion is the positive, because frock you!
