Question: How to use contact cleaner? Will it cause a short?

Hi,
How does one clean the contacts on battery balance connectors? They are wired to the battery, so I assume spraying them with something conductive would cause a nice short circuit. Any recommendations? In particular, I am thinking of the multi pin BMS connectors on a LIFEPO4 battery.
Thanks,
Colin

I have sprayed DeOxit contact cleaner on automobile, electric scooter, and electric bike connectors (including the ones you are thinking of) with zero problems. All the fuses in automobile fuse boxes, too.

I have painted on MG Chemicals Super Contact Cleaner "marker pen" on everything electric and electronic and have fixed numerous devices, a "dead" scooter that techies could not fix, as well as "dead" batteries.

I also use DeOxit Gold Contact Cleaner pen on many devices.

The protection seems to last about a year to three years, then it's time to do it again.

Smart people would use these on, to prevent future issues.

Obviously not to be sprayed on circuit boards.

Thanks for the replies.

Why the dielectric cleaner? I have not heard of that. (I've heard of dielectric grease.)

And why not use the Super contact cleaner on circuit boards?

I did try to google search - no dice. Thanks for the help!

Colin
