Nice work quokka, was that all with the arduino? How much more work before I see you disappearing past me?
Quokka said:Here is my pack.. Took quite a lot longer than anticipated as i had to build my own spot welder. Really happy with it though. 20s 12 p pack of ga sanyos using .2mm nickel sheet and adaptto bms. Should be good for 120 amps, i hope!
The arduino is working great... This is how i have the welder set up now which i find is simply awesome. The 4 g silicon cable for the welding leads is is a massive improvementTats said:Nice work quokka, was that all with the arduino? How much more work before I see you disappearing past me?

Its a diy spot welder. If you google arduino spot welder you cant miss it. Its on the instructbales website. It has links to everything you need to build one. I have also been posting some stuff on the build in the arduino spot welder thread in the for sale section. If you get stuck pm meMerlin said:what should i search if i want to buy?![]()

I ordered it back i November last year. Took a long time as there was a fairly long waiting list. From order to deliver was around 12 weeks for meMerlin said:looks badass....really nice!

Quokka said:Finally.... What a mission. Had to swap out my cro as it had major damage encountered when it shipped my guess. Bearings and halls were shot...
Anyway, the good news i now have a QS 205 bolted up into place, battery and adaptto set up to do some first street tests. So far everything looks great. Will be looking forward to unleashing this thing![]()
Just went on a 20km ride. I love itRix said:Quokka said:Finally.... What a mission. Had to swap out my cro as it had major damage encountered when it shipped my guess. Bearings and halls were shot...

Its still pretty heavy with all the big battery and the QS motor but its a very compact little unit. The frame is really thin which gives a great tirning circle, my old em3ev enduro electric bike handles like a super tanker by comaprison. Sittimg on around 2.5kw of power is all i needed to do 45-50km/hr and the range with 3kw/hrs is amazing I'll reserve the other 12kw of grunt for my mate and his stealth next time i bump into him. I am really surprised that i dont get more weird looks from other people. I guess unless you know what you are looking at you can pass as futuristic hi tec mountain bike.

Quokka said:Agree offroader, the weight is not an issue once you are moving. It just makes it a bit awkward when you need to manhandle it in tight spaces. Not a big issue though.
I agree with your points also powervel. The weight does help at speed, especially in gusty crosswinds.
