I have been trying to find ways to fix my bike for about a week now. The Hub motor spins but doesnt move the wheel itself. I have replaced the freewheel and the planitary gear as a whole but still no luck. I noticed that before it gave out, the wheel made some loud grinding noise then it just stopped working all together. RPB doesn't have any wheel sets with a motor until next month so buying a new one from them is out of the question. Any other ideas or possible replacements i can buy that will work just as good?

Is it possible the motor is running backwards?

Another test is to lift the wheel and spin it by hand in both directions. It should freewheel in one direction and engage the motor in the other direction.

I tried do that as well and it seems that when using pedals slowly to turn the wheel then the hub kicks in but if i do it slow enough then the wheel kinda jerks a bit then the hub spins without spinning the wheel

Best guess is the controller is a dual-mode type that can run sensored or sensorless, but when it tries to run sensorless it ends up starting the motor backwards (becuase it will easily spin that way and it's harder to spin forwards...a fusin controller I had did this with their geared hubmotor).

This happens when one of the hall signals from the motor isn't reaching the controller. Broken wire (almost always right at the motor axle exit), poorly seated connector, etc.
