Hi Folks,
Well, I have pulled my Rans Stratus out of storage, and started a rebuild. She looks pretty good, but I am refreshing a lot of the
parts now. Fresh Town n country 26 inch on the Back, but the Maxis 20 inch up front looks fine. New 9 speed chain and Cassette,
and a fresh Battery Pack. Making the jump from 24v 16 ah, up to 36 20 ah this time. Motor and controller can take it. Got a fresh
cycle analyst on board as well, still need to mount up a magnet and set my wheel size for speed.
Tossed it together and took it for a spin. Seems pretty solid, chain skipped a little on my high gears. Might need some more wrap
by adjusting the derailleur. I knew it was running pretty well when a motorcyclist gave me a wave from his monster Harley, or
something. Felt like I was up and over 35, maybe 40 miles per hour. Smooth and steady. But, My pedalling speed was too high.
I think I need a larger chainring. I wonder if anyone is making some 60 tooth, 110 front chainrings these days?
Thanks, Josh K.
