I bought a used Lyen controller 12 fet from a forum member. It didn't have the ebrake soldered in and the two regen wires were cut off inside. I wired the ebrake in and it works as the motor cut outs and I soldered the two white jumper cables together but no regen function at all.
I'm running at 20s LIpo. Could the only explanation be that regen is turned off in the program settings?

What else could it be?

To get regen working over 78V I had to modify the LVC from 62V to 80V. I actually set my LVC to ~88V. Might be the same problem you're having if it was originally for a 48V system.

I'm running the the 12 fet. With 48v lifepo4. So top charge is 58v. My regen wasn't working. I had to add a resistor in order it to regen higher.

The regen could be turned off in the current program you are running. If you have a programming cable and software you should try to set the regen voltage higher and see if it works. I run 20s and had to do the R12 mod to mine to increase the LVC in order to get the regen to work on a full 20s pack. I think the highest factory setting you can program is 72v so it will only regen when the pack is mostly discharged. When you do the resistor modification it tricks the controller so the regen and lvc settings can be used at higher voltages that are offset proportionally to the settings based on the resistor you used.

So first determine if your wiring is right by setting the regen voltage to 72v and see if it works when the pack is under 72v. If so then you know your wiring is correct.
