RELIABLE rc-hobby city setup that doesnt catch fire??

I can confirm that I've run a 12 slot, 14 magnet outrunner up to over 6000rpm on a Xiechang controller without any problems. I don't know what the true limit is; I didn't have enough spare volts to take it to the limit.

I thought that the controllers that Lyen was selling were modified Xiechang 116 units, so I would have thought that they would be OK for pretty high rpm use.
