Replace 1500 amp controller with 3000 watt controler

Hi, i have 1500 rear hub set up with 48 volt 20 amp battery and i was wondering if i could replace 1500 watt controller with a 3000 watt controller.i would do this for more power,hills primarily,i wouldnt run it much more than 20 mph most of the time.any suggestions would be welcome.

If your battery has a BMS it will only put out 20A.
If you battery does not have a BMS your battery won't last long.

You need to buy a new battery of 48V60A to achieve 3kw.
 
I think he means he has a 20 amp-hour battery. In most cases that will be good for more than 20A, but less than 60A.
 
If your controller is the bottleneck now, then yes upgrading it will move the bottleneck

Or maybe to the ability of the motor to stay cool.

Bottleneck has to be somewhere
