Got the lawn mowed today. One last time before the leaves drop. Was super dusty especially in back as I turned off the sprinklers last week.
Edit: Wind gusts peak in time to blow the clippings away.

Switched the irrigation back on for a couple of days to simulate rain from the storm we never had. Back to napping.
84% chance of Jaccuweather whatever that means. I smell one coming.
Now to finish getting rid of the rest of the leaf pile.
Went to Walmart looking for red ornaments to decorate with and in the lawn and garden section was this giant obviously well-fed tomcat/store mascot.
He was real friendly and siddles right up to a lady and rubs against her. She says he must smell my cats.
I definitely give off a dog vibe because of Oliver. Next time we go there might remember to bring him some catnip.
Had to turn the water back on for a couple of days to keep the flowers alive. Still nothing wet expected for at least the next 10 days.
Raked the back again. Hopefully the wind holds off from messing it up again for a while.
Went out to the mailbox and almost got knocked down by the wind. Poor Oliver is scared by all the noise. He gets spooked easily and he’s very skittish so we’re in for a long night. Even though we’re in a somewhat wind protected area it’s the worst that we have had since we moved here.
Windy and colder so had to resume irrigation again. Turned to ice which will melt tomorrow morning. Better than evaporating but we really need a good rain soon. Lawn is dormant brown hybrid Bermuda grass so it’s ok. The dry farmers might lose their crop this year if it rains too little.
NWS forecast high of 69
Jaccuweather high of 79
I phone weather high of 68 or 72
Opening the windows for a couple of hours as long as it’s not smoky or dusty. Turned the irrigation timer off as rain is finally supposed to arrive this weekend.
A split formation of Marine helicopters flying between Camp Pendleton and Twentynine Palms rattles the house every so often when they follow their regular flight path around the mountain.
Just went out to the mailbox with Oliver and noticed that It’s sprinkling and then:
BOOM!
Lightning struck about 1/4 mile south of here so we high-tailed it back into the house.
Heard a weird sounding plane flying over, a Ukrainian Antonov AN12 prop job from Honolulu going who knows where?
Well it landed at Phoenix around 7:25 am. Wondering what’s inside.
