That's actually pretty cool. I don't give a rats *** about snow, gotta love Florida 8) My only concern is how well it holds up to 30+mph speeds and how badly does it effect the balance of the tire at those speeds.

Can't wait to get pulled over for flashing lights, especially when you stop moving. I don't think those are legal... when you're moving you'll be fine but if you stop I think you might attract unwanted attention.

I've been riding with my Monkey Lights for the last two years, haven't been pulled over yet. Usually get compliments but been called fag and a few other nasties but no one's scrapping my carcass off the road, so guess I'm doing OK. If the lights provide extra attention;OK with me. Better be seen than not seen and end up as roadkill.

I have MonkeyElectric lights too (for 2 years) and I luv them! I think the light patterns on the wheel are nicer and more appealing. And I think the package is a more rugged and compact design than the flimsy light rings.

Unfortunately I don't use them much because they seem to attract unwanted attention from "crazy" people here in SoCal driving around at night. I'd get people honking their horns or rolling down their windows and screaming "Awww" or "wooow" at me. I've even had some crazy people throw soda cans and empty water bottles at me as they drove by me. :x

No one's thrown anything yet but get a few unwanted remarks. I tend to shrug it off, the crazies tend to be teens or losers who's cars are probably worth less than my bike. As I said, rather be seen than unseen and end up as road kill. You are right, they are rugged as hell. I never go out at night without my monkeylights and my MagicShine lights; I love riding but not worth the risk of getting hit. I hope you report the idiots who thow things, that's assault and shouldn't be tolerated. Too often bike riders are treated like second class citizens.

One of our customers brought a set of those in to install...terrible, just terrible. The rings are too flexy, and the distance between the mounts around the perimeter are too far apart, so that they were wavy no matter how carefully one tried to align them.
They also won't work on anything wider than a 28c road tire, and somebody with that skinny of a speed tire usually won't want the increase in rotational weight and air drag they cause, and the light the front produced was so dim and unfocused as to be basically useless.
And that picture they show is bullshit...it's not a continuous band of light when stationary, just individual LED dots about an inch apart, that produce zero side lighting. They're getting the side lighting effect by using a deep v shiny alloy rim... on a regular rim, or even worse on a disc ready rim with no machined braking surface, you won't see squat.
But they don't flash as one poster worried about..They do stay on when stopped, so that's a plus I guess.

And regarding crazy Californians (where I live now) I'll take that any day over Virginia, Georgia and Florida, where I've had half empty beer bottles chucked at me (several times), drunks shoulder checking me (several times) because they're tired of walking and want to steal your bike, and been run into a ditch by a station wagon full of high school footballers that then stopped, and had to defend myself after six of then jumped out of the car screaming "faggot, we're going to kick your ass!"
