s900 shows over 2000watts on 48v 20a ebike?

I just upgraded my e-bike for the first time with a new motor and a 30a controller and s900 display (which apparently has a 20a limit). The bike feels smooth and fast to ride, however,
I have a weird issue where when I am going uphill the wattage on the display keeps increasing at a steady pace and has exceeded 2000watts at which point I let go of the throttle. The controller has a 30amp limit and the display 20a so the wattage should go up to 1000-1500w at the most right? You can see the issue at the 1 minute mark on the video.

Also you can see in the video that if I start the bike with full throttle the displayed watts increase at a steady pace as the speed increases which feels wrong, I would expect the watts to max out at around 1000 or 1500 much earlier.
All of that happens only under load
So I 'm wondering if I have connected any of the cables wrong or what is going on exactly, are the watts actually that high or is the displayed number wrong for some reason
