Sambo's Bamboo Bike build

I have been looking at doing a bamboo build and was looking at a Mixte as an option.

I've got a stack of the dropouts here as well as some dp810 if anyone wants. Picture of the Waterjet ones above. Made for big power as well as small.

Man I'd really like to see one of these "in the flesh".
Looking closely at the photos, I'm just not buying that it is actually bamboo tubing.
I mean, look at those front forks. Just not possible.
If I'm wrong and it mainly bamboo, then it is the most amazing bamboo / steel fabrication imagineable.
If I'm right and it is really all steel, it is still an amazing what do the call it... "trompe l'oeil... visual illusion in art, especially as used to trick the eye into perceiving a painted detail as a three-dimensional object."

note from the seller: "This bike is made out of steel, formed and painted like real bamboo."
I am glad --- otherwise they would have raised the bar too high for us mere mortals :D
really looks incredible though

An early bamboo bike, from around 1900.
(Bike is in Velomuseum, Nijmegen, Netherlands... a great place.)
Craftsmanship is georgeous.
Interesting that builder did use bamboo for front forks,
still not 100% certain I'd completely trust that.

"Reinforcing Iron Wire" --- Seriously :?:
Where do these people find wire made of iron?
I will lay dollars to crackers that wire is steel.
Must be the same people that are selling the DIY bamboo bike kits on ebay.
They are also using heavy doubled bamboo tubes.

I do like the adjustable jig concept.
