schwalbe big apple kevlar guard vs. marathon plus tires

Which is going to give me better puncture protection? I already have the Kevlar big apples on my dahon speed p8 but I'm going on my first long bike journey and want as little problems along the way as possible.

Which tire means I will stop less to fix flats along the way? Going on a mixture of road, cycle path and dirt.

Thanks, I'm pretty sure it is too but I was wondering what the Kevlar guard in the big apples was for if not to also prevent punctures. Why waste money on a new set of tires if you don't have to, right?
