Schwinn Stingray Electric 36v Controller Replacement

Hello. I am curious if anyone out there has wired a 36v controller on the Schwinn Stingray Electric OCC Chopper Edition. I believe the oem controller is dead on mine. I would like to replace it with a 36v controller that will work with the oem brushless motor and aftermarket throttle. The key is I am also looking for how to wire the working controller. I do know a decent amount about wiring in vehicles but nothing about electric bikes.
 
OEM brushless motor? Are you sure? If it's brushless I can't imagine it's oem.

That's a tough bike to research. I find no schematics, no parts, specs, etc. And no sign there was a 36v, only 24v comes up.

Schwinn makes me expect it to be Currie parts. If you have an oem controller, I expect it's the same controller you find on other Currie bikes/scooters. You would have either a 5 pin http://tncscooters.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=41_74&product_id=177 or a 6 pin http://tncscooters.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=41_74&product_id=178 throttle. Those links have wiring diagrams. They'll have 24v controllers at either site, but even if the bike is a 24v, go with the 36v. Did it have batteries when you bought it?

Do you have pictures, numbers, ways to identify the motor and controller? If I'm misunderstanding and you want to upgrade to 36v do you already have it? You might be happy merely putting the 36v on the oem motor.

I havent' looked at them myself but I'm sure someone here has changed out their controller...however, keep in mind that every controller will be a little different in wire colors/etc, or could be, so whatever you find on here (or whatever someone posts in this thread as reply), may be completely different from how you would wire up the controller you get. :/

For the basics, you could look at almost any thread where someone has hooked up a controller and posted the wiring, or where someone has asked how to change out their controller, or to hook one up to the rest of the stuff they got for their new bike.

Actually one of those threads looked promising for information. I know someone on here has changed the controller on this bike.... My point is once I find someone willing to share I will buy the exact same controller so wiring is already known.

I have some picture I am trying to upload. I should have explained a little more. I'm almost 100% positive (I guess that brings me down to 99%) that it is a brushless motor and I think the sticker on it indicates that maybe. Years ago when I had this thing running, I actually crashed on my way to a Calc 2 final of all things. I had it running on 36v. I read a long time ago that Schwin designed these things to be 36v but then stepped it down to 24v, probably cheaper and may have been too fast for kids (I ran this on the flats around 19 mph normally). Anyways so the controller was designed for 24v or 36v which people still burnt them out running 36v. The plastic fake V-Twin motor housed the batteries. When you open that up there was an empty space which fit a third battery perfectly. So I wired that in long ago and ran everything fine until I crashed. When I crashed I bent the rear hub and broke the throttle handle. I replaced the back hub, had a bike shop make me new spokes, and then put the back wheel together again. I then bought a new throttle which I was trying to wire up but could not figure it out, I remember I had a big spark when doing so and thought I had burnt out my controller and even possibly messed it up during my crash but I never got that far.

I guess you've noticed that the website on the motor is gone. Here's Alibaba with a page that posts some wiring but I don't know that this is the right one, you'll have to decide if it looks right. You'll notice that once controllers are of a similar type the wiring has a way of turning out to match, but then you could turn out to have the oddball, of course.

Overall I think this is a good start, considering I had no real info to go on.

Oh, let me include this. I never had the oem electric chopper. But I came into possession of several of the regular OCC Chopper bikes at something like $25-40 each. Neighborhood kids in the past have gone in my backyard to get things to destroy, but 3 of these survived. Novel bike, but needs apehanger bars, plus other niceties you might like, eh?

Best thing I've come up with for an electric chopper conversion, I suppose if you were to give up on that stuff of yours this could be a way to go, but I assume this more for the audience at home. There are options for wheel size, (2.5", 3", 4") even some lower power wheels. I'm thinking I could try the Greentime 2500w controller with this 1500w hub after reading some of the experiments of EvolutionGTS. He's doing it on bikes that seem like they'd be more stable over 40mph though, maybe this isn't the bike for that.

Yeah I did notice the website for Ananda is gone and some years ago when I believe it was up still I had no luck finding a wiring diagram anywhere. I searched for months trying to find some bit of information. That controller may help me out though so Thank You. I actually did want to build a second custom electric chopper which may happen at some point once I finish everything else I had on the to-do list. My thought was I still have this one and would be nice to get it working again and then build a second otherwise there isn't much use for it because it is made for a Junior and there is no way in hell I can pedal the bike. I road this bike everyday to from home to college and it was fun zipping past all the pedalers on the way to class. SO it holds a little sentimental value to me. I would love to zip around town to close stores or to my neighbors house on it again. Not really trying to get exercise when the summer heat gets 110 degrees outside....

I guess the one thing that stands out to me is that controller has a reverse? If that actually reverses the bike I know mine does not reverse by the throttle.
 
I'm looking for a schwinn electric chopper stingray 24 volt motor controller .new or used or if anyone knows of an alternative replacement I would appreciate the information
