Securing the hub motor power/interface cable

I've got a bike with an RH212 DD hub motor, and I'm looking for a reusable/undoable cable retainer for the short hub motor to connector cable section, tying it down to the non drive side chain stay in 2-3 places.

Obviously I don't want to use the standard, one-time use nylon wire ties, in case a roadside tire flat fix is needed.

Do the Velcro wire ties (like these) work in this case, or is there something better?
 
Velcro ties are great, i have a ton of them.

What i do is use zip ties to the controller to motor connection.. that part is super tight.. on the motor to controller connection, i use velcro ties.. this way the motor can come off/on easier.. anything to offset the extra effort of having to unbolt torque arms!
 
I agree. Velcro straps are great. What E-HP posted would be perfect for me. My motor cable exits on the same side as the chain. Using the Velcro straps he mentioned, that would also act as a guard from chain slaps to the chain stay. I currently use split tubing and have Velcro’ed that in place. Only thing I don’t like about velcro is, when it gets dirty enough, it is less secure. Good thing velcro is cheap though.

Thanks all - I think I'll go with the Velcro methods, and keep a couple of the Velcro tie wraps in the tool bag for backups. I considered a slip-knot, but the Velcro would be easier in a flat tire and hot sun repair scenario.

This TSDZ2 mid drive was given to me with a broken casing. I bought a new casing and transferred the parts over. I had no idea whether if it will end up in success or failure so I installed it temporarily with strips of bicycle inner tube. Not the prettiest but it has done its job perfectly. It's easy on/ off and it's free. The UPP battery broke it's bottle mount during a ride, battery almost fell off. I lashed it back together with inner tubes and it's a lot more secure now than with the factory supplied bottle mount which allowed the 4.5 lb battery to bounce around, which probably contributed to it breaking.

I have 500 miles on the bike now (still running perfectly) and will be removing the TSDZ2 kit over to another bike soon. Removing the rubber bands should be quick and easy with a pair of scissors.

Funny you mention the knot. I was going to suggest a fancy type rope, paracord, or wax string that you can make a fancy knot. Like the head of a noose, for example. Though the wax will pick up all kinds of debris. The rope and paracord, I imagine, would eventually deteriorate. Sure it could look nice, but unraveling it when trying to change a flat would be cumbersome.
