Hey all, i noticed the site was lagging; turns out we had some newer web indexer bots going wild.

We had a couple min of extreme lag, few sec of outage, then i bumped up the server from a 2 core to a 4 core.
I'll continue to monitor the situation to see if the bots are ramping up, or done indexing the 8gb worth of posts on here ( quite a job, good luck completing that, bots  )!

Don't know if I broke it? Trying to upload giant pictures here.

This is happening.
The connection has timed out

An error occurred during a connection to endless-sphere.com.

The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer’s network connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.
Sorry if I broke the forum :(

To be more clear about what was happening. Tried to upload 12 pictures. About 5 got the successful check mark. Then things jammed up and I got a error message. Tried uploading 4 pictures in a new post. Everything would go OK till I hit the [Preview] button. Then things would jam up. On my end when a web site stops working, I close the site by clicking the X at top right of window. Then try to reopen. That's when I got the "connection has timed out" message as described above. Problem seemed to be intermittent.

When things are going wrong when I am buying airplane tickets on the internet, or posting on a funky forum. I go to history and clear recent history. Tried that yesterday and it did not solve issue.

My guess as to what the problem was? Demons, or someone unplugged the server.

Using big computer on custom computer stands made from concrete blocks. I cut the blocks with a diamond blade on table saw. My wife likes it when I say. Honey I bought you a diamond............ blade for the table saw, grinder, or any other tool.

Windows 7, Firefox 106.0.5 (64-bit)

I get this all the time. I'll upload a host of pictures (3+mb) and the page will throw an error message and then the entire site is unresponsive for a minute or two.

I'm started doing a quick "Resize > Large" in windows prior to attaching things.

You didn't break the server, don't worry!

This was the bot activity that became a major overload.

Okay, as far as the image upload problems go..
If either of you can reproduce this problem and provide me with:

1) Screenshot of the error.
2) The time it happened and your time zone ( so i can see when it happened on the server )
3) Your IP address ( check by using a site like https://whatismyipaddress.com )

Send me this information via PM ( don't tell the world about your IP address! :) ) and i will see if i can hunt down this problem and kill it. :)

Expect a few couple minute blips today as i resize the server.

I believe i have a fix in. Can you give it another try?

Grr.
Hopefully you're still here. I've tweaked a few things on the backend, let's see if the third try is the charm!

Sweet, thanks for helping me figure that one out.

Tuning and blips are done for the day. :)
