Can you sew at all? My wife made seat covers for years out of lycra fabric. Very simple pattern, just trace the outline of the seat, then sew about a 3 inch strip to the seat top cutout. Hem the bottom of the strip, then put in a shoelace. The lace will have its knot to stretch it tight at the rear of the seat.

If you can't sew, then just take a lycra square and staple it to the seat on the underside, stretching it tight. Start with one staple at the nose, and one at the back. Then start working on the main wide section of the sides. This will result in a few folds of lycra at the nose, but if you stretch it tight and carefully, you can avoid a fold big enough to chafe.

This worked really good for us for years, in our climate, black seats are just stupid, so we'd make our seats any color but black. I really liked white, or at least lighter colors of lycra.

I I was hoping for a commercial recommendation.the one above has too much padding I can do without the padding they're just something I got in a package deal as I got three of those other fat gel seats for five bucks each. Then under that I have a thud buster. Chromoly hardtail. No front suspension.
I'll go down to the boat cover place and see if they have any fabric they're backed up by 6 months all the time. So they can't do any work.

Any fabric store, including walmart, should have lycra fabric. Or use a goodwill ladies swimsuit, pair of tights, etc.

Even a cotton T shirt has the right knitted weave to do in a pinch.

Ok got the fabric and cut an old oversized pattern out which I want to flip over a piece of cord and staple it and then make holes and pull it across.16408247971946052438085773169992.jpg[attachmemt.
I'm going to use this back up old seat and maybe I could just transfer the seat cover later

Well here's my first attempt at least I made it bigger than needs to be and next time I go fall find a sewing machine and when I do the loop a rope I did sell it instead of staple it but it wouldn't matter either way you can staple it because you're sewing through two pieces of fabric around that rope being in the center. remember what I look like when I started this is just something that I had laying in the garage.16408297792264613616590017011301.jpg
Maybe I'll look online again to buy one that can pull tight. but everything I found was a stick gel seat which I only want the cover.

Get all the old crusty cover off it, then use a staple gun to staple it to the bike tighter. Take off all the old cover, by removing the nose piece and the saddle.

Pretty good for a first attempt. Look in your pm's. My wife can make you one.

Ok deconstructed my first attempt I made the stretch Lycra too big of a pattern at first I was scared I didn't get a wide enough sheet of it at half a yard wide.
Okay here we go I'm going to deconstruct that seat but I think it has bent rails but they're like over at the 6-gauge or something. I got three seats for $5 each when surface was holding a garage sale and the guys want to pack up I parked my station wagon next to them and loaded up my stuff I walked over 10 ft to the next booth and when I was there at they loaded up my whole station wagon was closed they can because they didn't want to go back to storage deee her corporate guy from Irvine and they had to go play golf. Score.
Okay back to taken apart this seat what that razor blade.

okay this is the same the second seat which I believe is bent. I want to try and tie this up I let the center plastic retaining archers stay there held in by three screws each for the nose and three screws for the rear. on the nets build I will take those plastic things off and pulled the screws and somehow tried to refind the holes where they go in.

Remember how this started I couldn't find a thin seat cover that didn't have big gel as I only need a thin sent cover the old seat with the small tears. I also put in some pics in the middle out of order
Sorry I I couldn't delete the photos are placed in the wrong place.
