Hi all
I'm new to this site, usually on the BVS site.
I'm finishing off my electric motorbike project, it's nearly ready for it's MOT. At the moment I'm using a Kelly controller to run the ME0907 brushless motor. It all works fine, but the motor is noisy with this controller, and I can't get full current. So, I've got a gen4 unit ready to program. I'm slowly working my way through the program setup, but has anyone on the forum any data. A DCF file for a similar setup would be really useful as a starting point. I've had a chat with John at Motenergy, but he hasn't got anything at the moment, except the electrical specs for the motor.

Regards
charles

sorry not to be helpful right now but in the next few month I will do some training on Gen4 setup , so if you still need I will help you.

Well it's nearly driven me mad, but I've got the Gen4 running. I've still got a bit to do at higher revs, but it runs miles quieter than the Kelly, and starts with a nice hum rather than the loud clicking before.
I have paid Thunderstruck Motors to write me a suitable DCF file which I'm sure will be miles better, but it's been a good learning experience.
Time to finish off the control wiring now.

Hi Charles

glad that you could manage it.
As you know Gen4 are sine wave controllers where one can set plenty of parameters, thats some steps better than those Kellys from 20th century. :D
Thanks again for your help two weeks ago.
Please go on here keeping us up to date.
I could now manage to get into my Gen4 of my vehicle. I could not download the *.dcf file. I got a fault message during download at 60%. But I can change parameters and made a lot of screenshots of the parameters. If you're interested, please send me a email address via PM.
But my vehicle has an AC induction motor, thats a bit different to PMAC and more complex to control.

best regards

Klaus
