hello,

new here, just purchased the Skatey 600 the other day, and i am quite impressed for this board i bought for 450 Euros.
Problem is, it is quite heavy at around 25KG due to the use of a brushed motor and 3 12V 10Mah Lead Acid batteries.

I really love it but it's quite bulky at this weight, so i thought to replace the Lead Acid type batteries to LiPo ones — will it be possible without causing any damage to the motor\electronics?

thanks

thanks,

another question,
the motor is rated at 36V, a voltage i can't get from combining LiPo cells. Should i just use the closest combination (33.3V)?

How are you going to balance the LiPo cells?
I guess i will need a balanced charger of some sort, do you have any recommendation on a budget?

In the meantime while i'm still using the Lead Acid batteries, how many charging cycles do they usually give until the they start to weaken?
Already charged them twice today, and i am afraid they will not last very long if i'll charge them every day.

Thanks again, and sorry if my questions sounds trivial, i'm still learning and reading :)

imax 6 is a good start point if you want to charge through balancing connectors / wires.

SLA (sealed lead acid) batteries as others depends broadly about their usage. If you don't usually discharge under 30% of SOC (state of charge), and store it full charged most of the times, it should have a life span between 4 to 6 years and a charging cycles amount of 300 to 500 or even more depending on the discharging rate.

It is better to charge them every time you could, a full charge cycle is when you has charged the whole capacity of the battery at once charge, two charging times, or more. So you will maximize their life expectancy having them always closer to the full capacity

I assume it's the same as my EMAD and many folks have used 12S with no issues. I have been for 2 years with no issues. I already had 6S for my DIY board so just use 2 in parallel for this one. The 12S for sure make it a little faster and for sure accelerate quicker. But biggest difference is losing about 20 lbs in weight.
