SLA batteries for moped

Yes I see what your saying. but you look at one figure and decide like that? No two batteries when new operate the same. Larger batterys do take long to cycle in a comparable similar application.
Max discharge of the 24ah is 240 amp and its 220amp on the 22ah.

Internal resistance of the 24ah is 10ohm and on the 22ah its 14ohm.

And weight make a big difference to how long the battery will live. Remember where an extra kg of lead is going to be 6mth after you bought them. Its going to be on the plates.

There was also cost, and the fact that I live on a hill so the added weight might very well have negated the added capacity. The best data I have is from the datasheets, they are close in terms of performance from there. The max current is not an issue, I will draw 13-20 amps average, no more than 88 (jack rabbit start up a hill at a dead stop).I also need to consider the charger, which will cost over $300, but I can get it custom programmed based on the battery datasheet at no added charge.

Thats a good idea on Scoot's 5amp balance fuse. Maybe even a 2.5 amp or smaller fuse/breaker would be ok.. just to make sure nothing funny was going on.

I think the ultra cheap "15c" lipo is a real life 2c or 3c! Not to say its necessarily a bad buy, but do spec your pack accordingly if you choose it over the bulkier sla option. Its not really an apples to apples comparison to compare pricing, size or weight of 2c lipo to 10c ev sla..
