Thought someone would be interested in this. It's for a vacuum or something but it deals with SLA's and how much capacity is generally in each brand. Did you know that a B&B 12v20ah has a full 4ah more in capacity than a CSB 12v 20ah EVX12200 (except for the CSB HR1290W) ? I got CSB and no wonder I can't get anywhere. This reviewed save me from a bad purchase or possible bad one. I was going to buy more CSB batteries but I'm not longer going to do so.

Good thinking. As I recall those sla's you have are priced nice, but don't spec for EV discharge rates. You need something designed for wheelchairs if you are going to buy more sla's.

This is what CSB specifically recommended for Robomower service. 20AH base capacity, 350x cycles at 100%, highest ever claimed. Specifically designed for personal mobility. Delivers 14.5AH at the 5A rate, which is on the low side. No one from the Robomower group has used these, performance is unproven. Altex Electronics (Texas) carries these on-the-shelf at reasonable prices.

OOOOOhhhhh. Mine runs very close to that and its not even on there. Ritar claim more than 300 cycles at 100% DOD and could be had at $100AU 12v 24ah each. They are just balancing out now with 0.00v SOC difference between them after discharge.

I looked at b&b site and there was a big difference in internal resistance. My cheepos had 25 milliohms I think and the best high rate was like 8 milliohms. Plus for the good high rate the price was 3 times more. Might as well look at lithium at that point.

the CSB EVX12200 12v20ah can be got for $41.
the B&B EB20-12 12v 20ah can be got for $54

I think the EB20-12 is worth the extra $14. I'm still working on the lithium. Buying that bike set me back or I'd have it by now. I'm very close to getting them, though.

Powerstream had the best prices on B&Bs in last couple months depending on the size and type you are looking for. The HR series are pretty outstanding IMO.

Heck thats not bad I payed 21 dollars for my cheapy 7.5 ah locally.

I've compared endless amounts of sla battery brands. BB sla's have the least amount of voltage sag compared to cheaper brands. I have BP series as they were supplied with my kit. But next time, I'd go with EVP series as they have more capacity and more cycles and better for e-bikes due to their higher current rating.

The problem with the BB EB series is it only comes in 3 sizes and is mainly for wheel chairs. Its a good long lasting battery, just lower current rating.

Yes. I've recently put my 12v sla with 3 weak cells back in to run 48 volts, but really its 40 volts after the weak ones bleed down. Still goes 10 miles at like 15mph. 12 if I pedal some. The cooler weather now is messing up my range. I'm just going to keep on going. Maybe I'll get to 6000 miles. Maybe more. I'll bet an EVP or EB series battery would last me 8k - 10k miles. That is if you have at least 4 of them on board.
