Stealth Bike Specs and Modding Questions

I researched electric bikes probably just under a year ago, and I came to the conclusion that buying something pre-assembled was the go for me, as modding standard downhill bikes with torque arms etceteria, is beyond what I'm willing to take on. The Stealth Fighter is the only off-the-shelf e-bike I'd consider. They look awesome, they're well design/packaged, and they're reasonably priced I believe. I do however have a few technical questions regarding the Stealth bikes, more specifically, the Fighter and Bomber (not interested in the pedal-less Hurricane).

First, I'm hoping someone can tell me the following for both the Fighter and Bomber:

  • What type of hub motor is in it, and does anyone know it's maximum rated voltage/amps (e.g. total safe wattage).
  • Same question, but relating the speed controller. What's it's maximum power handling?
  • Why does the Bomber weigh 20kg more than the fighter? Where does the extra 20kg come from?
  • How wide is the frame along the top-tube? I want to know so I can simulate it's width on my current bike to see how much I'll have to change my riding style to avoid bashing my knees.
Now, I want to know what I can do to these bikes if I ever want more power. Battery upgrades are fairly trivial, it's a matter of ensuring the battery cavity can fit them, and ensuring they're wired for the appropriately to achieve the best voltage/amperage combo. But, and this relates to my previous questions, could I get any extra power out of the stock speed controller and motor without damaging them? I saw mentioned in the comments of a Youtube video that someone managed to get their Stealth Fighter up to 7kw (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ewv-GmB_3jQ). Would anyone know how they may have done this?

Thanks in advance!

You can trick them up, give em' more power, more volts etc. quality machines for sure.

They're Crystalyte motors, not sure what they're rated to but a few here have overvolted Bombers up to 10 kW or more. Fighters have been overvolted to 7 kW or more. You'll obviously need a higher voltage pack and something like a Lyen controller. The Bomber weighs 20 kg more due to the heavier motor, battery, V-Boxx and other components. Frame width on my Bomber is about 4x that of my mountain bike, Fighter is 3x as wide. I think when I rode the Bomber for the first time, I knocked my knees about a lot. You adjust very quickly and automatically.

Check out the E-S Stealth Owners thread as well as Hyena's. Best to post questions there, excellent info in both places.
