sulfating batteries after first use?

Ok, so after the first use and subsequent charge of my ezip I noticed that the terminals were sulfating! I'm not sure if this is normal after first use, I pulled out the batteries packs and checked them. They were fine, no corrosion on their terminals, just on the box. There are no terminal covers for the actual bike so the humidity and moisture may have gotten to it. Is this an issue if I clean off the corrosion, or is it like rust, once it starts it doesn't stop?

I also left it on the stock charger for (possibly longer) than 6-8 hours.

Should I be worried if I clean the terminals? Is there anything I can do about it?

Open the case and see if there is a year marking on the battery.

There's no date on the batteries. The sulfation is present after every ride though, and it's always in the same place.

That's not "sulfation", which is a condition that affects the plates inside the battery, that's corrosion, which is usually due to a loose connection and/or a small leak around the terminals where they enter the battery..

You can "fix" this problem by cleaning thoroughly, tightening/replacing the crimp terminals if required, and then coating the terminal area liberally with a dieletric grease (silicone grease, petroleum jelly, etc).

Ok. It's stopped corroding since I clamped the battery down. It was jumping on and off the terminal with every bump I hit. Thanks for your help.

JUST SOLDER THEM AND BE DONE WITH IT. YOU WILL HAVE NO MORE PROBLEMS .
TIN EACH CONNECTION FIRST WITH SOLDER AND IF YOU ARE CLOSE TO THE BATTERY
USE AN ALIGATOR CLIP AS A HEATSINK TO LIMIT THE AMOUNT OF HEAT BEING
TRANSFERED DOWN THE BATTERY POST .USE A SOLDERING GUN AND NOT A TORCH .
YOU DONT WANT TO PUT FLAME CLOSE TO THE BATTERY .
