Surly LHT front wheel drive

Martin

Well done. I remember your first post about this - good to see the finished work.

Where does the battery-container come from?

It's great that we're all exploring different possibilities.

I really like this build. Front wheel drive is one very good solution to having good pedalling ability and good electric drive on the same bike. It can also be removed easily and a stanard fork installed.

Very nice build quality too. I love the bottom bracket drive idea for the jackshaft. Very well executed.

I have considered this too.

Oh, did I say, very well done?!

Very nice. I was just going to ask you about the throttle. I sure wish there was a ready made throttle that we could use for the RC ESC's.

If you come up with someting, please post.

NICE BIKE!!!

Best fork evAR.. throttle has got to go tho. Did I miss it or is that a modified off the shelf kart sprocket on the front hub? Or is it a custom machined adapter plate going from the freehub to the kart bolt patten?

How about a synchronous belt from the "throttle" knob to a twist grip on the handlebars?

I'm sure RC type controllers with control voltage input will be along soon - the Castle Creations system has been delayed, though

Until then you can hack into the servo tester and take the leads going to its potentiometer to an external one, or one in a twist throttle such as the Magura.

Which sprocket/carrier combo is that that matched up if you don't mind me asking?? May come in handy.

I'm surprised more people don't put rear hubs into forks.
