Surly LHT front wheel drive

uh oh.. more swiss cheese.... :|

In general, i think we have a very tame and peaceful bunch on ES, sure there are the occasional sparks, but for the amount of poeple on here daily it's good !.. the cesspool is nasty at times, but it's a very much needed thing in my opinion, otherwise that stuff ends up mixed in the rest of the forum.. anywayz.. nuff said bout that.

lets try and aim positively please.. i have not had to lock a thread in a while, kinda like that..

ES is quite tame compared to some of the OTher enthusiast sites on the Wild Wild Web, and I agree it is better, even necessary to have a "cesspool" or Off Topic area to keep such content contained. It is similar to a local Bar in a typical neighborhood, and most neighborhoods have at least one if not more. If you don't drink or like the bar atmosphere....you don't go in, it is simple as that.

I belong to and Moderate on a stand-up scooter site, and we have "The Lounge" as our off-topic area. Many/most of the members on GPN are fairly young and in their early to late teens. And they very often ACT their age and very immature  The Lounge is a cesspool of haters, flamers and pranksters many of which never leave the Lounge and have NO interest in scooters and are only there for the internetz lolz and the chance to be mean spirited. It is like a restroom in a local park where a gang hangs out in the restroom as their clubhouse. They rarely leave the restroom or enjoy the rest of the park. But should a regular guy wonder into the restroom  watch out as you had better be prepaired for a fight.

But I don't ever remember anyone getting to the point of removing all of their posts when they decide to move on regardless of 'why' they have decided to move on, and this is the second time I have seen this happen here on the more mature ES :?

A while back I asked for the Cesspool to be hidden from unregistered users. So, you have to be logged on and scroll down to see it, now. Frankly, I wish it would disappear completely, too......... but, as Ypedal says...

Most of the comments are fair. I admit it was a daft thing to do.

I will do as TD suggests and put the build on EV Album.

@Katou My next project is to build a carbon fibre bike frame(non electric).

Cargo,
you're build is original and amazing, thanks for sharing and please do stick around. Also, feel free to post pics of your non ebike frame build, I'm sure others would love to see it!!

Is it possible to return this thread to it's original granduer? Miles, ypedal?

CF homebuilt? Come on, you're going elsewhere with that one?? Say it ain't so.

Regardless, I respect your decision, vaya con dios mi amigo. I hope you'll stay though, I'll be looking for your posts.

Hmm, what motor would go best with a full CF frame? Oh, what if you built the frame for compatibility with a RC drive? You could hide the motor inside a frame tube!

That, would be mad skills.

It would need to be restored from a backup. It looks like he made the deletions on March 31. The second edit was on:

So probably any backup from before March 31. You could pm knightmb to see if its possible and if its worth the trouble. If it gets restored it should probably be locked.

Hey all,

www.archive.org may have a snapshot too :)

I scanned through this real quick seems cargo was upset by some of the razzing, pontificating and just general BS that kinda goes along with ES...

Personally I take it all with a grain of salt, and just imagine everyone on here is an Aussie or French (Crude and Rude right?) :)

Sorry to anyone if I came off like I had some right to complain, I wasn't... just illustrating another piece of swiss cheese (thanks for the coinage Y) which considering the ingenuity behind it (copied, original, inspired by a 1944 Popular Mechanics hard cover with the first ever stand up scooter I ever saw... sorry it's late I digress)....

The build is unique and just the "IRL" factor of it, gives me further inspiration to consider a LHD chain drive (single speed) FWD with a small outrunner setup... I am also impressed at your use of stock bits where possible.

Now it seems as if were coming back from the brink of the abyss (loosing another valuable ES member and their contributions) and I am darn glad for that!

Having broken a chain on motorbikes and one on my last trike, spinning one around anywhere near a front wheel is risky...imo Wouldn't like to be riding it when/if chain breaks and wraps itself between fork and hub locking the front wheel...

I would love to see your hand crafted carbon fibre bike. If you don't post here, please at least give us a link to where it will be.
