Talk me off the ledge, Thinking of returning to ICE!

Wow,

Thanks for all the replies.

I have a car. I'm not limited by budget. The ebiking is a hobby, and a way to feel better about myself for not driving "as much". ........

All this boils down to me thinking I'm wasting my time and money.

I sat down and added up the cost per mile of my Ebikes once. its half the cost of driving my 6000 lbs SUV. and for half price I lose 7 passangers worth of seating, the aility to haul more than 1 bag of groceries. the safety of having a huge steel structure with airbags around me in city trafic. Heating. AC. the radio. Convienance. range.

An Ebike just isn't praticle for me.

But its FUN!

We are Pioneers. We who Ebike are taking the important first steps along a path all will eventualy have to take as oil supplies dry up. We may be years or even decades ahead of the rest of socioty, but every one of us is leading the way to a greener world.

Well,

I'm off the ledge. Because I jumped!

After reading about my dilemma a user (number1cruncher) contacted me about my Electrified Townie and asked if I wanted to trade. Turns out he had been looking for a Townie to convert to an ebike. He had a Honda Metropolitan scooter he may be interested in trading. That happens to be the scooter I've most wanted to buy for years :)

So, I'm off to make the trade today! This forum is great! I mean what are the odds?

Thanks to everyone for their advice and thoughts. I'll be around, still. The bug never quite leaves you. I have a Currie powered Mongoose that I bought for my wife, but has just been sitting killing SLAs, as it never gets ridden. It turns out, she's not really that into e-biking, though Lord knows I've tried to convince her!

So, my Fatpacks are perfect to shove in that crazy custom battery case, and make that stock kit really hum.

For the time being, though, I'll be enjoying the scooter.

Take Care.

Great stuff mate!!!! hope you enjoy your new 'acquisition' and likewise for the swapee with your townie :)

KiM

Very cool. You have the scooter for no cash, leaving the potential more cash to do better on a future ebike if the urge hits you. It's win all over, especially since you retain another ebike and some good batteries.
