Very cool ! I wonder what will happen in the future. If we see how much abuse our hub motors can take for a short moment. Maybe some car tuners can tune our leaf, volt, zoe etc to triple the original power.

For example my renault zoe has 66kw 88hp with a 22 kwh battery. Of the line it is pretty fast for 0- 50 kmh.

I'm sure it can handle 200 hp for a few seconds. The battery, controller and motor wouldn't suffer from this peak power for a few seconds. The owner just have to take care with the throttle.

If the warranty periode is over I should made a shunt hack but probably this is not so easy. The whole drive train is connected to each other with can bus etc and will give errors :?

Very rough rule, but electric motors can usually take ten times their continuous rated power for short peaks.
