i was coming home from work at full throttle a few days ago, hit a bump and i lost all power to my wheel. my APM was still on and still reading everything fine, but no power. I felt it lugging as i coasted down and knew exactly what it was as i had felt it before. some dirt built up on that dust cover around the wires coming out of the axle and the cover grabbed and spun, guillotining the wires and shorting them out. so back of the truck it goes and i just finished changing the wires. still no power to the wheel. I found a document on how to test the throttle, thats working fine, and from what i can tell, there is no power coming out of the controller. meaning i pulled the plug on the motor, propped the throttle open and tested with the probes and i get 2 millivolts at 9 amps. basically nothing. i pulled the case off the controller and looked around. nothing is obviously burnt or blown, fuses are fine, it looks like there are two fusable resisters, no cracks, no pops, the red light comes on, the APM shows everything fine, just no power coming out.
the windings looked great when i had the cover off, everything was nice and clean there. both phases gave continuity to the center conductor, everything there looked ok. so my question is, how do i test this controller? is there a "for someone that has never done this while using small one and two syllable words only" type guide to test this?
if one mosfet blew, would that cause the whole output to stop working? i have heard of people switching out the mosfets on these things with some beefier somehow more bad ass mosfets on these boards before. i have the tools for that job if someone can give me the part number for what i need to buy.
BTW, i have a Crystalyte 48 volt system, APM, and an HT35xx
thanks guys
