Saw this guy at my local major intersection with a giant arrow sign.
he was'nt just standing there pointing,
he was busting out tricks left and right....

way more entertaining than this other dude riding a recumbent trike with a banner on top.
(yes, this guy rides back and force on the crosswalk all day)

a sample of this extreme art form...

In my town we got guys that get down like James Brown on the signs, I honk and wave, it's cool to see someone entertain instead of just mindlessly stand there.

I also drive by the local Hustler club, just to make certain they haven't hired any sign twirlers.

Used to be a guy that did that around here for a bunch of places; he'd switch off depending on who was having a sale that weekend or whatever. One day the wind took the sign out of his hand and it flew into traffic, almost causing what would have been a pretty big pileup, but everyone managed to barely miss each other.

He still does it, but it's toned down some, and he never lets it actually out of his hands now, and some things he doesnt' do on even breezy days. :(

Around here, they give a guy a sign and he stands there all surly, looking like he wants his drink now. Often you see the guy has leaned the sign against the pole somewhere, and is sitting in the shade. Clearly they are non professionals.

Out here, those guys are signing for the furniture store that's always going out of business, and the guys are probably homeless. They just stand there with a sign - if they're moving it's only 'cause it's cold out - they don't care.

The real pros care about their image and they've definitely got some skills.

I know round here, it's a pretty well paying gig. Like 10 bucks an hour. Not a hole lot of money, but still that's not all that bad for just standing on the side of the road.
