drugs are not bad inherently, but can be used destructively when people have lost control of their life sometimes. i think our national obsession with drugs is bad. locking people up for using and selling drugs is far worse than allowing people to use them.
we allow people to smoke cigarettes and drink alcohol, both are very destructive. they kill the user. not even heroin will kill you unless you take too large a dose for your basal neurons to maintain respiration. alcoholism is responsible for 39% of the traffic deaths and most bicyclists run over from behind or killed by drunks. my technician was killed by a drunk. a drunk ran over my mailbox and carried it 100' down the road before it fell off under his car in the ditch. my mailbox is a full car length off the county road. drinking beer is the stupidest thing i can imagine since it tastes like rotten goo and the only way people would want to drink it is under social pressure from their peers. that's why men alcoholics drink beer and women alcoholics drink tom collins. they are smarter than men in everything.
both cigarettes and alcohol have stronger addictions than junk or speed imo, but they make them legal so the manufacturers are able to make money from the sale of them, so why not allow other drugs to be sold for profit in the same way? that is the moral crime, but it is part of race based class structure in our country. drug addiction has always been considered a vice of the black and lower classes and the laws were made to use against them in order to maintain the power of the white ruling class, pure and simple. today the prisons are full of kids who try to get by with no job by selling pot to rich white kids. when they get criminal record, they have NO CHANCE of getting a job ever after and so their life is stuck in the same drug selling rut from which they don't escape.
it was only with the advent of large numbers of rich white kids using drugs during the 60's that it has come out in the open. there even was time when you could legally use LSD before mr reagan decided to use the power of the state to crush those he did not like.
california and most of the other states could solve some of their budget problems by just releasing those it houses in jail for petty drug crimes. it is cheaper to give the kids $400/mth to stay straight than pay $2400/mth to keep them locked up. but we have a hateful religion based approach to morality which keeps us from ever developing further as a society. imho.

I hope this mystery plant isn't making you just a little bit paranoid; I seriously doubt that last sentence is true on this forum.
You sound like someone I am very close to, someone who wants to believe in certain things so badly that she refuses to look at evidence that contradicts her view of the world, and doesn't even bother to look for evidence when someone says something that supports her view of the world. She has spent many years being led around by one fraud after another. All these frauds are using her to make a buck, by making vague and useless (but very nice sounding) pronouncements about the sublime nature of reality, or the mysteries of the body, which they are privy to, and which you can get closer to if you'll just shell out a mere $19.95 for this latest book or miracle supplement or magic amulet or whatever. I love her, and for the most part this behavior is fondly regarded as relatively harmless folly. It's unfortunate that it wastes money and supports these parasite people, but is mostly harmless. It only occasionally becomes hurtful when she tries to push a 'miracle' cure on someone who's really sick and doesn't want to indulge her (and all the other snake-oil suckers in their lives) by stocking up on whatever the latest 'miracle' fad is.
A quick Google search reveals many different plants that Harvard Medical School has supposedly identified as the "most nutritious food" according to various supplement hucksters. I'm mystified why Harvard Medical School would even attempt to identify one single food which provides the vast assortment of nutrients the body needs in proper proportions... of course so many people are doing so many things at Harvard Medical School, it's pretty easy for unscrupulous hucksters to make things up without citing a specific study, and many credulous people will simply accept what they say as true. Sort of like with electron microscope examinations of water crystallization... where's the evidence? Without published data, it's simply just not science.
Hmm, apparently an appetite suppressant, since some days you're not eating anything but this mystery plant, and losing fat. I don't care what this single plant is, it's not going to supply ALL the nutrients the body needs in the proportions needed, and you're not going to keep a Bowflex look without providing adequate calories to fuel your workouts, you know. Not to mention an adequate supply of quality protein.
Edited to add -- most appetite suppressants are stimulants, which would explain why you're feeling clear-headed, energetic, and healthy. How do you feel when you stop taking it?

Inasmuch as ever since I was tall enough (age four or so) to reach the counter, I fed myself.
Mommy Dearest only cooked din-din.
We/I ate whole wheat bread and peanut butter and skim milk.
So, that's about fifty years of that for my diet.
Sometimes I eat restaurant meals, and then, yeah: bloated, sleepy, and not right in the gut.
OTOH, I could live my whole life on bread, peanut butter and skim, and occasionally, some cocoa powder in the milk.
I seem to be doing OK on this diet, SLE aside, which I cannot blame on diet (mystery disorder, natural).
For a treat, thought: oh, man, keep me away from the junk food palaces or they will sucker-me in, big time.
Cigarettes, too, are a mainstay in keeping a trim figgure (jk).

yes i agree, drugs are abused by people without their even understanding that they are abusing them because they are actually seeking something different and expect drugs to deliver it, only to be trapped by physical addictions.
cigarettes are almost impossible for most people to kick even though it starts as simple schoolyard thrill and to be cool with your buddies. it is now clear that predisposition to alcoholism is genetic and has been identified. maybe we could test people before allowing them to drink. to protect society at large.
cigarettes and alcohol kill, so how will we get people to stop using those drugs if they wanna be part of the health care system? i don't wanna pay for them to be on oxygen for 40 years, why not just let them die? we are gonna just start letting the old folks die to reduce the 'end of life' health care costs, which is what is bankrupting medicare now. so why not just let the drunks and smokers die rather than waste more money on them?

maybe you can consider the way of the buddha. learn to give up desire and other distractions to pusue inner peace. Ashoka was a changed man and changed the history of the world after following the way of the buddha. imagine if out country was like india in the 13th century, where will we be in 8 centuries. we are gonna all kill ourselves off by then, so Ashoka was a far wiser man than any today even though his power was universal, and his armies ruled all and destroyed all before he turned to the buddha. there is a way to control your uncontrollable self, through meditation and throwing off the worldy entanglements and distractions.
