Hi Everyone,
Just picked up this Aseako ALTO bicycle, which is a rebadged Tonaro Compy. It's got a 200W mid drive motor, never used one before as I've had hub motors on the eZee Sprint and a hub on my Giant converted bike.
Now I can confirm the motor works as it spins and makes noise when I turn the throttle. However, the chain doesn't move at all and I can hear something ringing lose, similar to when the car blew its transmission.
Shake it a bit and it kinda engages very lightly (can feel some engagement but not enough to move bike) but other than that, doesn't work at all apart from a freely spinning motor. There's a pannier box on it so I opened it up and there's a NEW spare part in there labelled "motor pin". Dunno what that is as I have NEVER dealt with a mid drive motor before.
I went onto the Aseako website and they sell a few parts which I think MAYBE the problem. Part 1: Motor at $299, Part 2: Reducer at $299 and PART 3: 5 hole free wheel
I'll need to post a video or something or open it up over the weekend I suppose. Anyone have a slight idea what I should even start to look at?
Thanks.
