This is what I came up with for the brake side. Haven't figured other side out yet. Its actually an Ampedbikes torque arm that I have modified.

You don't need two - the axle is solid, so if one side doesn't turn, the other side can't.

Looks gook. Nice and clean.

For the oppisite drive side you could build one similar but at a diffrent angle, so it went forward, then bent over between the chain stay and the seat stay, right were they meet at the dropout. then it couldn't twist up or down. It wouldn't need to be held by anything other than the axle nut like that.
