Torque Sensor Conversion Advice

Hi all,

I naively bought a Heybike Mars 2 thinking a cheap ebike should suffice for my winter commute. It turns out the cadence sensor is really antithetical to the way I ride and at worst dangerous in snowy/technical conditions. Since its past the 30 days return window I've been looking at either selling it or replacing the PAS with a good torque sensor + CA available on grin. I have a few questions regarding the conversion.

1. Would I be able to use the heybike peripheral controls like the light + light switch, PAS shifter etc with CA?
2. Would I be able to use regen braking?
3. How do I properly measure the bottom bracket?
4. Would I be able to use a hybrid cadence + torque sensor setup?

Here's my current parts list:
CA-SA
ERider83-T17 BB with 5 Arm Spider

The big question on my mind is whether the process is worth the hassle at all or should I just stomach the extra cost of selling at a loss and buying a better bike?

The benefits to me for the CA route is the complete control over the bike which seems to me something not available in bikes at the ~2k price point. I'm just unaware of how much tuning the CA is going to require or whether it has sensible defaults.

Thanks in advance!

This kind of bikes are available with torquesensig for a reasonable price, look at Himiway Bikes or Cyrusher for example.
