I've been mostly lurking for about a year. The people on this board are amazing- So much knowledge and expertise. This is my second ebike. Its a Townie with a 500w geared motor from ebikekit and a 48V battery from Calibike. I commute 16 miles each way with this bike a couple times a week. It can do up to around 26 mph assisted with human power. So it will be legal on January 1st.
My first ebike is a 20" folder that I use for short trips to my favorite surfing beach. I noticed how much fun it was just getting there, so I thought I would expand on it. The folder took too long and was uncomfortable to ride for a length of time. Hence the souped up Townie.

Just an fyi.... if you copy everything after the = sign and paste it to in between the youtube brackets it will display the video directly on the page.

Like this...and sweet bike path btw.

Thx for the tip, Voltron. I've only just begun to explore the bike paths around here. Its not entirely legal for me to be on some bike paths, so I slow down to biped auxiliary power near pedestrians. No one has said anything to me, yet.

You're welcome. And as long as you don't go buzzing people too close, they probably won't say anything. Except for the occasional stuck up roadbike guy yelling cheater of course. (and as a roadbike guy myself, I feel ok saying a lot of them are assholes! lol) I really enjoy slowing down and beginning a friendly discussion of why they would feel so cheated considering we aren't racing, and why they feel justified yelling at anybody the doesn't fit their idea of a suitable bike rider as they try to pedal away harder and harder. :)

Cool area to ride. 8) Lots more tumbleweeds around here. The root supposedly is edible, but probably hard to harvest. Maybe after a rain, I'll take a shovel and try sometime. One never knows what may be coiled up under there.

There are a few triathlete types where I work. They haven't said anything to me, not sure why. But the other people in my office that don't exercise say I'm cheating. I keep plenty fit from surfing. So I just smile and tell them it ain't about the exercise, its about not being stuck in traffic and having fun while commuting! :)

Appreciate you sharing the video! Great bike path!

I'm on the same route on a regular basis and may have seen you on occasion.

I have 3 crank forward frames like the Townie. The Townie, KHS Smoothies, and the Trek Pure, make the most comfortable casual rides. I put over 2000miles on my mid drive this summer. My favorite rides are these flat foot frames.
