Hi there everybody.

I'm new here on the forum and have been reading all sort of projects for some time now.
The thing is that I'm looking for building something similar to the Ghost E-ndure.
I love the way the bike looks.
There are several builders here on the forum who have transformed a hub motor into an axle driven motor.
But all of them here are still using a separate bottombracket with freewheel.
My question: Is there anybody here with the same idea of using a hub motor as a direct bottombracket motor like in this great bike:

Or are there serious limitations using a hub motor for this?
Clean mobile is not going to sell a motor to non frame manufacturers.
And my guess is that the bb motor in the ghost is something like an axle driven hub motor.

regards in advance.

If your motor is built directly into the crank you loose a gear down stage and you will have difficulty matching pedal and motor RPM output.

Human pedal power input rarely exceeds 100-RPM and most motors do not run well or very efficiently at that very low RPM. Hub-motors often run best at about 2.5 to 3 times pedal/crank RPM.

I think it is possible, the only thing is about machining the new pieces that would be necessary to manufacture, but I think it is not rocket science, just take a look at the internals of a Bofeili.

You can get a bofeili motor kit from their dealer in New Zealand. http://bofeilinz.com/motor-kit.html Then just find a similar frame like the ghost.

The ktm egnition and ghost e-ndure are two of my top favorite factory made bikes.
