Under-voltage cut-out on the BBSHD

As the thread title says really!

I am aware that the factory set cut-out is around 41 volts, and is set as such to protect standard 48 volt battery packs. My question, however, is how low can the cut-out actually be set and will the motor run properly on lower voltages?

I am interested in potentially running a BBSHD from a standard 36 volt battery pack and am trying to figure out of this is actually feasible (I don't need the power of the BBSHD I just prefer the increased reliability and potential efficiency that it's supposed to have vs other units). Theoretically I cannot see why the motor wouldn't be able to run on lower voltages, providing it can be configured to do so. But can anyone who has actually reprogrammed their BBSHD tell me how low the LVC can actually be set? And whether or not they've actually tried it on lower voltage systems?

Browsing the internet has shown that 36 volt versions of the BBSHD/BBS03 are available from some Chinese sellers. This begs the question are they actually legitimate? And if they are/do indeed work, what would actually be the difference between the 36 and 48 volt version? Just firmware settings?

I suppose the same question could be asked towards the 36/48 volt versions of the BBS02. Are the two versions actually any different physically? Or are they in fact identical with only firmware differences and a different stamp on the case?

Many thanks :)

36v and 48v controllers have different firmware and maybe different hardware too. The lowest possible lvc on a 48v kit is 38v. When you connect a 36 or 48v controller to the programming software, it knows what it is and only makes certain ranges of values available for voltage and current values. You can't program a 48v kit with an lvc suitable for a 36v battery.

Motor windings (speed) are set to match the intended supply voltage. It is not just software. Bafang do make a 36v version of the bbshd, but most people want the most power (even if they don't need it, or use it), so everyone tends to only offer the 48v version. The 36v bbshd is 750w rated, afaik.
