I've seen places that sell new laptop batteries, 14.4V 6.2AH lithium. these are for obsolete laptops years ago and OEM just want to get rid of them so they go for cheap.

Can we connect say 4 of these in Parralel and 4 sets in series to make 57V 25AH pack?

Does a laptop battery have BMX inside the case along with the cells or BMS reside on the laptop? I think laptop chargers are just dummy charger providing 19V and good current to the laptop. Is this correct?

Hi, and welcome to the E-S forum

First,

DO NOT USE ANY OF THESE LITHIUM COBALT. They are dangerous adn need high degree of ingeneering to make big pack and preserve safety.

The circuit you talk is called a BMS not a BMX like the bike. it mean Battery Management System ( search on wikipedia for info)

The laptop charger are usually simple power supply with pretty good voltage stability. The cahrger circuit is inside the laptop and also the battery.

you better must use the powertool battery like Bosh, Makita, Dewalt, Milwaukee etc.. they are made for stronger current demant and are less dangerous.
