As you all know gas isn't getting any cheaper, and no one really knows about electric bikes. So why not use rising gas prices and a combined Endless-sphere effort to get everyone out there to know that there are other forms of efficient transportation. I was a person that thought that I was at the mercy of gas prices..... Until I bought my first electric bike and now, I am projecting at saving over $400 during the duration of the summer! Talking about one good investment! I do not know of any investment that has made someone $400 in just three months with such a low start up cost.
Who is in on making a YouTube video, where viral videos are born, of people and there electric bikes, top speeds, range, interesting facts, and most importantly videos? Depending on the size of the project and how many people are in, this could be one awesome video! I'm sure there are plenty of people on here that have Adobe After effects, I-video, and windows media player, that can help put this project together.
I am just getting sick of gas companies thinking they own the world (when in reality they probably do) and think they can do anything and everything they want. Another thing that ticks me off is the fact that the second the economy starts getting better we are getting slammed with high gas prices, which was one of the reasons for the fall of the economy in the first place. If we can get this out to enough people and turn people on to electric bikes and what not, this could help turn gas prices downward. Or if they stay at the same prices that would be cool to.
Many people have the impression that electric vehicles are slow, heavy, and above all useless. Well I have seen some people who have proved electric bikes' worth as a revolutionary form of transportation. DoctorBass (sorry if I spelt his ES name wrong ) and Zombiess and countless others (those are the two I can think of off the top of my head) have shown that these electric bikes are like transformers. They look like bikes, but they can do soooo much more. DoctorBass (sorry again ) was able to pull a bus! And break the speed record for an electric bike and Zombiess is outpacing cars on the streets. The thing that gives me the electric grin, is the fact that when I pass or keep up with cars, they look at me like I'm the next Lance Armstrong, they have no idea of the technology that is hidden in my frame, nor would they think that it was electric without me showing them the batteries, the throttle, and the motor.
Not only will this video shine light on an almost unknown form of transportation but it could also give other people "the e-bug", if you will. Who knows anything could happen, and maybe gas prices will stay below $5 a gallon, this time.
Well that's my comment for the day, the more people we get on this the better! Any ideas comments or suggestions would be pretty darn fantastic. Lets get the gravy train of ideas rolling!

I don't know we need to show the world these secret wepons we have. If they see Zombies doing 60+ on a bike and Doc towing a bus. I think we will be looking in our mirors all the time for the flashing lights.

The crazy speed is not for the norm, more like the 20mph limit we are supposed to be doing.

Yeh a large group of riders doing the sane thing just riding. There can also be the wild croud that are on the race track or offroading at great speed.

We don't want the EBIKE to get a need to be registered, lics and insured. I love my rides from 12mph to just about 40 but I only do the crazy stuff when it's in a safe place.

Don't forget, we are regulated to 750w, 20mph and I would like to keep it that way. Not saying if you want a Emotorcycle that's fine with me. Just don't call it a EBIKE, please.

Hmmm.. interesting idea... why not making a video other than insane speed?... maybe it is possible to catch the attention by doing just something different with our ebikes?

Viral video dont really need to be true!

let say... an ebike battery charging a nissan leaf !... or... cooking sausages with an electric car battery.. or .. electric bike battery...

But to make it viral we must use something that is popular these days... and that have a limit that only our ebike can solve.... true or not!

Immagination party right now !

Doc

Ebike cruise night, caught on tape! Strange beings on bikes, posessed with bizare powers, hoardes of crazed maniacs invading our fair city! Going up and down the strip. WHAT WILL WE DO!?! Time for our local heros, the GOP to the rescue, in their tire shredding H2's, who squash the green party menace, and fill the streets with environmentalist's blood!
"LONG LIVE THE FIGHTERS! and gasoline."

Got an idea!!!

A little clip showing a guy plugging his ebikes to the socket for recharge and creating accidently a total blackout in the neighborhood

Doc

Or when he plugs it in all the Volts and Priuses in the neighborhood catch fire.

But seriously though, with the economy going deeper in the toilet everyday, I think a video showing the cost benefits and the abilities of e-bikes will do more than anything to excite people about e-bikes.

I think a cost comparison between a standard sedan, a economy hatchback, a Prius, an ICE motorcycle, and an E-bike would be a great video. People with kids are still probably not going to go full on e-bike, but they might get rid of one car instead of keeping two, and many people without kids might ditch the car completely. Something that shows the true cost of owning a car. This is something most people never think about because owning a car is just something they are conditioned to think you must do in life.

Maybe it could be done like a road trip across the United States. How far would you go on X amount of dollars. Of course for the money it takes to buy a car (even a hatchback) you could probably ride around the world (maybe more than once) by E-bike. Or break it down to expense per day factoring in ALL costs. This would be quite dramatic. I remember some guy near Seattle on here a few years ago was saving $75/week ($3900/yr.) taking his e-bike to work instead of the car in ferry fees alone!

How about a bunch of clips of bikes doing really cool stuff, including things that non-electric bikes just shouldn't be able to do.
Would need to be a fairly stealthy bike, so as to not reveal it is electric until the end.

- start off with pedalling along bike paths, kids in trailer, quietly enjoy the scenery
- drop them off at school/daycare, leave trailer behind
- onto the road
- out accelerate cars,
- head off road and take on some trails
- insane jumps
- riding back up hill without a sweat
- more quiet cruising
- few wheelies for good measure, some power drifting
- head to the beach
- ride along the beach
- mobile dance party
- ride home, via market to get fruit/veg, pick up kids, head home
- quietly plug in bike to the wall, pan down to finally show its an electric bike

Then roll the credits "Be part of the electric revolution. Get an ebike"

Hmmm. Reading that back sounds like most of GCinDC vids. Maybe we just need someone with some time to splice together some of his footage

i can imagine how this video would go as a late night shopping infomercial..
"its sunny outside, wouldnt you rather ride to work and get some exercise" -deep sales pitch voice
"but its far and ill get all sweaty" -whiny bitch voice
"what if your bike would do most of the work for you" -sales pitch voice
"hmm im listening"
"with the ebike 9000 you can just sit on your bike and it can do most of the work for you"
"wow, but ist that cheating?"
"cheating what, yourself out of paying those hugely inflated gas prices each week sure is"
"no i mean cheating by not pedaling"
"sure you can pedal as much or as little as you like, but how much exercise were you going to get sitting in your car"
"but arnt electrical bikes slow?"
"a persons average speed for their commute to work each day is slowing every year due to traffic congestion, do you hate sitting at the back of endless cues at traffic light waiting three or four light changes before you finally get through only to have to wait at another set of lights"
"yeah"
"well not anymore just roll on right up to the front, all that time you sit there in traffic is precious time that you could be getting closer to work"
"but arnt electrical bikes beavy?"
"with modern technology, you are able to get a sufficient system that only adds 50lbs to your bike motor bikes are much heavier than this"
"but arnt they expensive?"
"you can get an ebike kit for as little as $1000, most people already have a bike to attach it to, how far was $1000 worth of fuel going to get you"
"thats silly you still have to pay for electricity costs"
"ahh well we have rounded that figure up to $0.01 a mile and you can halve or even cancel that if you charge at work"
"wow thats cheap are you sure that number is right how can it be?"
"its all in the efficiency of the motor, ebike motors have an 80% efficiency whist a car only has 30%, thats a huge saving there and then how often do you see one person sitting in a car that seats five"
"*giggles* all the time"
"its a waste hauling around all that metal and weight requires more power, and then you have aerodynamics the frontal area of a bicyclist is much smaller than a car so it affected much less requiring even less power to move"
"ahh, what about registration?"
"at the moment government laws allow certain ebikes to pass as bicycles requiring no registration at all"
"do you think this will change?"
"it would be ridiculous for it to change, ebikes are the same as bikes, taking up the same space, doing no damage to the roadways only difference is it requires less effort to get anywhere"
"are they safe?"
"as safe as normal bicycles, safer in fact, without having to pedal so hard you are able to pay more attention to your surroundings, you dont have your head down pedaling while someone just in front of you slams on the brakes, most people will put ebike kits on suspension mountain bike frames which have better brakes and wider tyres for quicker braking, suspension for stability and flattening out all those pot holes that never seem to get filled up"
"what if i want to go long distances or do a big load of shopping"
"well an ebike isnt a replace all job for the car, but it is a good replacement for your daily commute to work, school, just down to the shops to get the paper etc."
"but what if it rains, water and electricity dont mix?"
"good point, most ebike kits are water resistant and dont mind getting splashed or a bit of rain, i wouldnt leave it outside in the rain though, if its too wet or if your unsure just take the car, with the amount of savings youll be doing it work hurt the bank but you better check the fuel gauge, its probably empty like they usually are"
"how long will it take me to make back my costs?"
"well if you spend $50 a week on fuel to do your commute and spent $1000 on an ebike, that will take 20 weeks to make back that initial cost, now if you only ride it 6months a year when the weather is nice it will take less than two years to make your money back, two years if you count the cost of electricity if you charged at home"
"what about servicing like a car i hate having to pay for a car service they are so expensive?"
"depending on bike kits there are no serviceable parts they just keep going until they break all you have to do is keep the battery topped up and service the ordinary bike parts like tyres and brake pads which most people can do themselves or take to a friendly bike store to do it for you"
"how long do the ebike parts last for"
"as long as you find a reputable dealer most parts have a 1year warranty, thats not to say they will break in 1year, if you look up there is probably a ceiling fan above you chances are it stil works and chances are its been there for longer than you can remember it works on the same principle an electric motor and a controller, you will probably outgrow or even upgrade your bike many times while you stil have the same ebike kit"
"ok im sold where can i get one"
"in the links below are some reputational dealers they we have found helpful and reliable try them"
"*ebike grin* wee"

wow that went longer than i thought no wonder those adds go on forever.. some ideas

How about an evolutionary chain video. Start with the standard bike and show the different types of motors people started to slap onto the bikes over the years ending with the electric motor. We've evolved as a species so why not our transportation?

lmfaoo. What about instead of motorcycle gangs, we use electric bike gangs :D Haha bad ass!
Instead of roaring motorcycle engines the whisper of hub/ mid drive motors. Wearing pink bandanas and T-shirts. Can't forget about the frayed leather to put on the handlebars either. 8) Make it like those scott trade commercials with the baby.
haha too cool!

That's kinda what I meant except my aversion to pink won out over your idea, mine was pink bows on the feet, and Ypedal shirts for everyone!

ohhhh whoops
Yeah all we need now is to get a bunch of ebikers together to get this bike gang started =D
lmfao it will look bad ass. More silly then bad ass but bad ass none the less 8)

A really hot chick riding off road on an ebike at high speed in a bikini should do it.

Women bring the masses.
50 mph Dildo Bike

Oh course there would have to be a gearing change with up and down motion.

For it to go viral, it must contain at least 1 act of wildly stupid human behavior, followed shortly by destroying something valuable, and tragic injury.

So, I say let's try to jump a river, with an ebike, off a grossly disproportional sized ramp necessary to do the job. Rider fails with a full vertical jump and lands close enough to shore to completely destroy the ebike and any chance at walking again, yet far enough to be in a foot or so deep of water , in turn shorting out the electronics causing the bike to fireball, engulfing the already seriously injured dare devil in a spectacular event that can only be described as 'water on fire' The video then cuts without any explanation as to who, where or how this happened.

I think this type of video needs to focus on the practicality of getting things done on an ebike. Maybe to have multiple members try "racing" their friend to the grocery store. This could follow with interviews with either person touching on pros/cons of either. "Racing" does not imply breaking the law significantly, most people in indiana do at least 5mph over the limit, so if 25mph is your law in your state/country, I think 28-30 is acceptable for a viral video. It's not like viewers can use speed guns on us in the video anyways.

We should highlight also the development of batteries in this decade, and compare our batteries to those in their own consumer electronics.

Today, for the possibility of a humorous inclusion, I could've had a video of me racing an Audi R8 between traffic lights. I see him a couple times a week and maybe I can get that footage.

We need an ebike version of this.
