A friend of mine asked to ride my bike today.

He has met me out to lunch many times while he drove, I rode. He finally gave in to temptation.

Ah yes, the first ride.

The first time I tried mine, the good old 36 volt front hub motor that could take my mountain bike up to 20 mph, that was a magic moment. At first it was like, take it easy on the throttle, kind of get a feel. After that it was "I wonder if I can drag race cars now" and at least up to 20 mph, you felt like superman on the bicycle. You ride around with a big smile thinking "I was wasting so much gas to run to the grocery and get that ketchup, now I can do it on this and get some fresh air and exercise at the same time, win win, baby! Oh yeah!"

I go to Orcutt all the time to visit the best damn bicycle mechanic on the central coast, Ray, who owns Central Coast Cyclery.

sweet! thats my LBS by the way! i take my bikes there! i only live a short distance from there..like a mile or so!

he has worked on my crappy Ezip and my wife's non electric (for now) bike! nice guy!

i have to go in for another tune up soon, i will say hello for ya

you must have been the guy selling a front hub green bike a bit ago for 400 bucks on craigslist...right? (you said you were selling it to get your eTownie)

anywho...nice to know there are more ebikers around...i have only seen one more. an older guy (70ish) on an old Currie bike with the elctro drive! i never see him pedal, says something about that old Currie kit! but at 70 or so, i dont think i would be pedaling much either!!!

thanks and all Reid, but the video is of my buddy. I have been on the ebike for several months now! (lost my flower a long time ago LOL)
he is still one of those that sees the eBikes like scooters and fat chicks... fun to ride, but dont let your friends see you on them. :wink:
i for one dont care what others think...if its fun, saddle up!! yehaw!!
